As a poet, I can confirm that I am a deeply flawed individual with plenty of bad habits. We tend to think of poets as these enlightened beings who know the secrets of life but in reality, they are just as human as the rest of us.
My teen is reading about Robert Frost. They came at me, agahst, telling me about how he would crumple up his students' writing and toss it in the garbage if it wasn't any good, but the students still adored him. Yeah, I'd have to agree that this wouldn't impress me, both as a teacher and a student.
